As it moves beyond its 15th anniversary, this captivating cultural enclave continues to flourish, representing a bridge of understanding between the Chinese and Dominican communities.From its establishment in 2008 around Duarte Avenue, the heart of this community, Chinatown has expanded and thrived.
The neighborhood's entrance, marked by two ornately designed Chinese arches, leads visitors into a harmonious blend of East and West.Within el Barrio Chino, an array of businesses, parks, fountains, and statues offer an immersive cultural journey.

The statues, scattered throughout the neighborhood, represent real and legendary figures from Chinese culture, each accompanied by a plaque that unveils their story.

She founded Barrio Chino to honor her father's memory and the many Chinese immigrants who laid the groundwork for this community.Chinese businesses, such as Changan Auto and Gac Motor, have significantly contributed to the prosperity of Chinatown and Santo Domingo at large, reflecting the promising economic relationship between these two nations.
