BEIJING, July 9 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Wednesday exchanged congratulations with his Bolivian counterpart, Celinda Sosa Lunda, on the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, noted that over the past 40 years, China and Bolivia have achieved steady and sound growth in their relations with deepening cooperation across various fields, bringing tangible benefits to both peoples.
Wang said that in recent years, the two sides have held multiple meetings and been actively working to implement the important consensus reached by their two heads of state.
Noting Sosa's visit to China in May to attend the fourth ministerial meeting of the China-Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) Forum made a positive contribution to the development of China-Latin America relations, Wang voiced readiness to work with his Bolivian counterpart to further deepen the sound cooperation between the two foreign ministries and to elevate the China-Bolivia strategic partnership to higher levels.
For her part, Sosa said that since the establishment of diplomatic ties, China has provided Bolivia with fraternal support and assistance, significantly contributing to Bolivia's development and upgrading of key industries.
Noting that China's vision of a community with a shared future for mankind aligns with Bolivia's concept of "Living well," Sosa said that Bolivia regards China as a friend and strategic partner and is willing to further strengthen bilateral relations and jointly address global challenges so as to build a more prosperous, just and balanced future for all the peoples of the world.
